Kia Syros: A Strong Debut in the SUV Market

In an effort to expand its footprint in the Indian market, Kia launched the Syros, a stylish and feature-rich compact SUV, at a competitive starting price of ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Syros enters a highly competitive segment, challenging models like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Kia’s own Sonet.

With its modern design, advanced technology, and fuel-efficient engine options, the Syros has received a positive response from buyers, contributing to Kia’s strong January performance.

Kia India Expands Its Market Presence with Syros

Kia India has been actively working on strengthening its presence in the Indian automotive market. As part of this strategy, the brand introduced the Kia Syros, which made an impactful debut by dispatching 5,546 units in its first month.

The Syros has been priced competitively, starting at ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a strong rival to the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Kia Sonet.

Kia’s total sales for January 2025 stood at 25,025 units, marking a clear improvement over the 23,769 units sold in January 2024, translating to a 5% year-on-year growth.

Meanwhile, the sales for December 2024 were significantly lower at 8,957 units, showing a strong rebound in the new year.

Performance of Other Kia Models

Without the Syros, Kia India’s sales stood at 19,479 units, primarily contributed by the Sonet, Carens, and Seltos. Additionally, Kia offers premium models like the EV6, Carnival, and EV9, catering to different customer segments.

Apart from its domestic sales, Kia India also exported 1,454 units to over 70 international markets, further strengthening its global footprint.
