Hero Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Launched at ₹59,490 with Battery Subscription: Features, Range, Variants

Vida VX2

Hero MotoCorp’s electric brand, Vida, has expanded its EV lineup with the launch of the new VX2 electric scooter—its most affordable offering yet. Priced at just ₹59,490 (ex-showroom) under the innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the VX2 aims to make electric mobility more accessible to Indian riders.

Affordable Entry into EVs

The highlight of the new Vida VX2 is its unique battery subscription model, where users pay per kilometre rather than buying the battery outright. The battery plan starts at an economical ₹0.96 per kilometre, helping reduce the scooter’s upfront cost—a crucial factor in price-sensitive markets.

For those who prefer outright ownership, Vida offers the VX2 Go variant at ₹99,490, while the more premium VX2 Plus variant comes in at ₹1,09,990 (both ex-showroom). Under the BaaS scheme, the VX2 Go is priced at ₹59,490, while the VX2 Plus is offered at ₹64,990.

Design and Practicality

Stylistically, the VX2 draws inspiration from the earlier Vida Z models, featuring familiar elements like the LED tail-lamp and 12-inch wheels. However, the VX2 sports a more practical design with a single-piece stepped seat that prioritises everyday comfort and usability, making it an attractive choice for daily commuting.

Battery, Range and Charging

The VX2 Go variant comes equipped with a 2.2 kWh swappable battery, delivering a claimed range of 92 km per charge (IDC). The VX2 Plus ups the ante with a larger 3.4 kWh battery, offering a significantly higher range of up to 142 km.

Both variants support fast charging and can recharge up to 80 percent in approximately 60 minutes—a big plus for users looking to minimise downtime.

Additionally, the VX2 provides three different charging options to accommodate various usage patterns, whether charging at home or on the go. Vida also claims the 12-inch wheels on the VX2 are the widest in their segment, promising improved grip and stability for safer rides.

Expanding Vida’s EV Portfolio

With the VX2, Vida is looking to attract a wider customer base by offering flexible ownership models and lower entry costs into electric mobility. It joins the existing Vida V2 family, which includes the V2, V2 Pro, V2 Lite, and V2 Plus scooters, further strengthening the brand’s EV presence in India.

The VX2 launch represents Hero MotoCorp’s ongoing push to make electric scooters not only more affordable but also more practical for everyday users.

Whether you’re a city commuter seeking a budget-friendly EV option or someone looking for modern tech and convenience, the Vida VX2 looks set to be a compelling new choice in India’s electric scooter market.
